Lace Closure or Lace Frontal! What is the Difference?

When it comes to hair extensions, we may have heard of Lace Closure and Lace Frontal at one time or another, however not many people are sure as to what the differences between these are.
Is one better than the other? Which should I buy? are very common questions that arise.

Firstly, let us understand what they both are .

What Is A Lace Closure?
Lace Closures have become very popular within the last few years as it gives women the option to finish off their style with a piece that will match their weaves perfectly without having to worry about leaving out some section of their own natural hair or blending in your own hair . They are a fairly popular item for women who care about their hair, since your own hair will be protected underneath, you will have the benefits of keeping your own hair healthy (no heat), while flawlessly completing your style. A Lace Closure typically measures about 4 inches long and 4 inches wide or 5 inches long in width and length and usually called a 4×4″ or a 5x5" piece. It is placed in the middle of the head.
We have recently started to see 6 x 6 and sometimes 7x7 inches as well.
A closure does not recreate a hairline. However, it does offer three styling options including:
Middle Part Closure
Free Part Closure
Three-Part Closure

If you love simple, middle part hairstyles, a closure is your go to. A Lace closure Wig is more of an everyday wear and is very low maintenance

What Is A Lace Frontal?
A lace frontal is a half wig that goes from ear to ear. It is typically sewn with two to three bundles of hair. The standard size for a lace frontal is 13×4 or a 13x6
A Lace frontal is naturally thinner and has more flexibility.Easily conforming to your head resulting in a flawless installation.

This is the best option for women with thinning edges.

What is The Difference Between A Lace Closure & A Lace Frontal?
One of the biggest differences between a lace closure and a lace frontal is the size.

What is The Difference Between A Lace Closure & A Lace Frontal?

One of the biggest differences between a lace closure and a lace frontal is the size.

Size
A Lace Closure size is typically 4×4 Inches and sits in the middle of the head or on the side for a side part while a lace frontal is typically 13 x 4 inches and covers the length from ear to ear

Versatility
A lace closure is used to recreate a natural parting in your hairline. It usually measures to about 4 inches by four inches and is normally sewn into place.

Hairline
Many women tend to worry about their edges and their hairline but this worry is eliminated with a lace closure weave as this is usually sewn onto the cornrows or secured with a band to give a natural look, there is no requirement to use a glue to secure for a natural look.
Lace Closure Wigs are also a wear and go style, they are simple everyday looks and help maintain the same style
A lace frontal on the other hand is usually secured with a tape or a glue to give that seemless and perfect natural hairline look. If properly installed, it can look so natural that people might be confused as to whether you are wearing your natural hair or not. This makes a lace frontal a perfect option for occasions, events and weddings as it gives the most sleek look, however, since the glue tends to need a re-application after a few days, it is not recommended for an everyday wear

Versatility
A Lace frontal is more versatile as it recreates the hairline from ear to ear. They are bonded in place in order to enhance the versatility of styling. It covers the entire hairline allowing you to part anywhere and achieve various styles or look seamlessly.
A Lace closure on the other hand is not very versatile as you can only part within the 4 inches area

Cost
A lace closure is a less expensive option while a lace frontal is much more expensive.

So Which Is Better?
When it comes to this, both options are great. Both provide a flawless illusion of the hair growing from your scalp. So decision boils down to the preference of versatility.

Styling : A Lace Frontal will always give you more options for styling and is more versatile than a Lace Closure. On the other hand, if you are looking to keep the same look or style, then a lace closure is your best bet

Savings: A Lace Closure will save you on costs as is usually cheaper than a Lace Frontal Wig of the same length

They can both be sewn into wigs
